“Build the Park” fund-raising drive offical begins
There is so much good news to report, I’ll just jump right into it.
- We’ve been awarded Best of Hudson Valley 2012 and will appear in the Oct issue.
- We’ve raised over $27K so far (we thank the following people and businesses for their very generous support)
- We’ve now just have $8000 left to raise before we can open
- We’ve identified two great area contractors who have provided to us very generous bids.
- We’ve got a new website with all the latest information on the park
- Everything is in place for us build and open the park this fall.
But it all comes down to raising the remaing funds!
So, as of today, we are kicking off the “build the park” fundraisng drive. If we can raise $3K by Oct 21, we can break ground, it’s that simple and straight-forward.
There are over 200 people on our email list, we are asking everyone, who hasn’t already made a donation, to do so.
If just half the people reading this email click donate now and contribute $50 or $100, we would complete our fund-raising drive today and be open in just 4 weeks!

We made it… Best of Hudson Valley 2012
Wow, we made it into the Best of Hudson Valley 2012!
A bunch of us will be attending the 2012 Best of Hudson Valley Party on Sept. 27th 2012.
Organization of the Month
We thank our local Hudson Valley Credit Union for providing us with the “business of the month” display table. We will be on display for the entire month of August, please stop by and see our latest news and updates. We even have our buy a brick on display.
Funding Milestone Reached
As of today we have $9900 left to go to open our park.

Beacon Barks 2012 – A great success!
We had a fantastic turn-out for Beacon Barks! on April 28th. Along with helping all the shelters, rescues, and community, we raised over $5,000 for our park. Thank you all the volunteers, donators, and supporters.

On Saturday, February 11, we all met at by our “coming soon” sign at Memorial Park and posed (with our dogs) for a group photo. It was fun time and thanks everyone for coming!
Beacon Barks Parade finds new co-sponsor
The Beacon Barks Parade – an annual event held in Beacon NY the last weekend in April – will be co-sponsored this year by the Friends of Beacon Dog Park and the Beacon Barkery, with the all proceeds to benefit the construction of theBeacon Dog Park.
Santa helps raise funds and brings holiday cheer
Over the Christmas Holiday season, devoted volunteer Steven Robinson braved the cold December air and helped raise over $150 and provided great photo-ops for everyone shopping up and down Beacon’s Main Street.

It was a fun (and cold) Saturday afternoon, but we did it! Our “coming soon” sign has been erected on the future location of our park.
We have lots of fund-raising left to do, but it’s been a great a year and I’d like to thank everyone who did their part in getting us this far.
