A Dog License Certificate is Required

Membership is open to everyone who meets the requirements—you don’t have to live in Beacon. We cannot assist you in obtaining the license. Beacon residents can obtain information through the City of Beacon website.

Other Requirements

  1. Dogs must be spayed or neutered.
  2. Dogs must have rabies vaccinations and municipal licenses that are valid for at least 14 days after your application date and must remain current (as required by the City of Beacon).
  3. Dogs can never have bitten nor attacked another dog or human being.
  4. Dogs do not act in a violent or threatening way.
  5. Dogs are licensed in their home municipality.
  6. We highly recommend that you consult your veterinarian regarding which additional vaccines help protect dogs that play together.

What You Need Before You Register:

  1. A photo or scan of a valid dog license certificate indicating current rabies vaccine and spay/neuter (a picture of the tag does not suffice).
  2. A photo or scan showing proof of spay/neuter if not indicated on your dog’s license certificate.
  3. A photo or scan of your dog(s)

Online Registration Is Open for 2024 – 2025!

  1. The locks will be changed on Monday, April 1, 2024. (Existing members will need to re-register and upload current documents including a picture of your dog).
  2. Only the new year keys (with a 4 on the back) will open the gate.
  3. Keys/tags will be mailed for registrations received after 3/17.  If you are  approved by 3/17, you can pick up your key & tag at the park during the week of 3/18-24!  The schedule will be out soon. Please make sure your address is complete and zip code is accurate. If keys/tags are lost due to inaccurate address information, replacement fees will apply.
  4. To help us reach you, please populate the registration form with two different phone numbers and make sure to fill out your complete address as we will mail the new keys and tags.
  5. We read every application: expired vaccines/licenses will cause a delay in processing.
  6. Friends of Beacon Dog Park is a volunteer organization; please allow 96 hours to process your application.
  7. Once your application is approved, you’ll receive a confirmation email.
  8. Please allow for mailing time, too!
  9. No refunds.

3 Month Registration – Not Available until January 1, 2025
January 1, 2025 – March 31, 2025
: $25 for first dog

Additional dog fees
$15 per dog no matter which registration period.

Why is there a membership fee?

The dog park is a non-profit organization, and is not run by the City of Beacon. Membership fees and donations provide the operating costs which include, but are not limited to: 

  • Cost of insurance
  • Cost of supplies (trash bags, signs, keys, tags, etc.)
  • Cost of maintenance (landscaping, website hosting)
